Just a fun little desert scene did for fun!
3k polys (including double faces for plants)
(6)512s and (1)256
Some things still need to be tweaked but ohwell
The plants seem realy big compared to everything else imo.. I like the old wrecked car though, good job on that. Does the building have or going to have a inside or any more props going to be added to it?
Coming along great MP If you used a little more size variation in the plants i think it would look somewhat better. great job on the rocky cliff though
I'm not sure if it can be helped but the shadowing from the alpha mapped plants didn't exactly take the alphamapped shape. I have no idea how that would be pulled off, but im sure there is a way .
Other then that, I think its really nice, reminds me of de_dust in CS:S .
Using max? if so then the only one that will do it is the basic raytraced shadows(the advanced one doesnt like to work) and it will make your shadows black. if you dnt want them black, just add another light. Then make then equal 1 as with the shadow enabled one getting the larger %.
Looking good so far.
The only thing I see off is the car. It does look a tad small. Though given the nature of plants in the desert they can get rather tall.
But maybe compared with the sign you have it might look a little small. That type of sign seems like the kind that would be low in teh ground. If its a taller sign maybe a thinner post would suit it better and give it a better sense of scale.

edit: Actually I should say the car in the ground looks a bit small compared to the plants
