Hello all-
Have trolled these forums for awhile, really like the community of artists here.
I am a 3D artist looking to hone my skills a bit better in certain areas. The brunt of what I do is for game development or real time, and I'm familiar with modeling, texturing and animation, but do not feel like I excel in any one given area.
I'd like to start by focusing on my texturing skills. Most of the work I've done is character related, and used mostly photographic content that's been altered for a photo-realistic look. I would like to learn how to create textures more from....scratch, so to speak, and rely less on photographs.
I am currently in the process of revamping my portfolio site, it's not polished at all, I'm not really showing it atm, but for the sake of this thread, it may be good to see where my skills are:

A particular area I want to focus on is altering or creating metal with the nice highlights and paint chips I see so often in games like Unreal Tournament. Also hand painting muscle definitions for skin on characters.
Thanks in advance for any feedback or tips.
