Now here's an idea for a simple mod. Get some sort of simple music support for vehicles. That way you could hop in one and hear a predefined track or set of tracks that the developer chose. For this vehicle, it would have to be a selection from Turtles in Time
yeah i've been thinking of assorted music.
of course i forgot putting a stereo in there, but i do have a fold-up pizza table
as for modding, i'm not sure. was thinking far cry.
well, from right to left, first there's settings for the doors, and guns.
the power measures how much guts there's left in the big battery in the rear. thinking about adding hatches in the rear wall for maintenance entry and recharging handles.
there's settings for turnig on and off most of the equipment in the vehicle. so you can put all the power to the guns for maximum firepower, or to the foot tracker, for long range scans.
there's also communications, for contact with the sewers, and splinter with a microphone activation button, and a casette player, with a storage for ddifferent casettes underneath.
i added some speakers in the roof as well, and there's some small storages for random stuff, as well as a weapons cabinet to the right of the foot tracker.
i'm thinking about a floor catapult under the opening roof, but because of the seats i'm not sure if there's space for it.
currently all the text and stuff is polygonal, but i'm going to make most of it textures later.
i tried to make every button and switch have an actual function, rather than just go for the "look techy" thing.
here's the drivers spot.
the lever moves the guns on the roof, and the big red button fires them.
the grey block is the rear view screen. i'm going to add a small hole for a camera in the green shell roof rear.
the arrow is part of the navigation system.
in the rear, there's a stick that moves a marker on a map, and the arrow points to that marker.
there's also an option to make the arrow follow the signal from the foot tracker.
target polycount is around 8000. with 2 1024X1024 textures.
hehe, thanks for the praise
i spent 2 hours hunting down reference of the VW bus,
and created it first. then i added turtles specific details, and scaled it a bit.
i started texturing it.
pizza table unfolded.
closeup of the controls.
the rear of the computers. in case something go wrong, Don can open up the left door and do some tinkering.
Now you've gone and done it! Now you have to model a turtle too!
Freaking cool model. Great textures, but I don't think that your text will very sharp with just two 1024 textures. Can you show the underside of the car?
The control pannel looks really nice. The wires one the computers look really out of place. The control pannel is very clean and detailed, but the wires are somewhat blurry, undetailed, and have an excess of black. Adding a bunch of smaller wires and larger cables as well as other componets could add some nice detail and make it more believeable.
well, believe it or not, the text is actually textured now. using only 2 1024x1024 textures for the whole vehicle.
i'm about 75% done texturing now
as for the backside of the computers with those wires, i didn't really pay much attention, since it will mostly be hidden underneath the side door.
the work continues though, and soon i'll post more updated pics.
and no i won't make it more cartooney.
as for the new series turtle van, someone else would have to do that.
oXYnary he actually made the version from the cartoon, the actual toy is a bit different.
not to steal any of dejawolf's thunder, but here is my turtle van from 2 years ago....
Did anyone besides me really appeciate the original characters? the ones that all had red bandanas and white eyes? And they KILLED people because they were HARDCORE!
heh, yeah. the old black n white comics. still have some around here somewheres, along with the TMNT role-playing guide. lots of great artwork in there.
i am in love with this party-wagon.
i'd like to see the turtles done in a more realistic manner like you've done with the van. i understand ninja turtle mutants can only look so real, but yours looks straight out of the cartoon. perhaps a texture will fix that...
I recall there was a episode on the new TMNT on Fox Saturday mornings or Cartoon Network that had the Turtles help out one of Michelangelo's favorite comic book heros.
EPISODE FORTY EIGHT
"Return of the Justice Force"
Story Editor: Lloyd Goldfine
Senior Supervising Director: Chuck Patton
Written by Marty Isenberg
Synopsis:
Mikey's quest for a rare comic book leads the Turtles and Casey back to Northampton, Massachusetts where they stumble on a mystery madman's plot to kidnap all the remaining members of a now-retired super hero team known as the Justice Force. All evidence points to a former member of the team as the mastermind behind the kidnappings. But is there more to his agenda than meets the eye?
Here are some links from the above site of the Justice Force.
also created a small wall basket to store the comics, since mike treasures them so highly i doubt he would let them float around gathering dust and getting stomped on.
as for the pack of milk... i used it to measure the size of the fuel tank. it's around 73l.
and here's an update on the exterior.
added some city grit and dirt along the sides, and basic wheel textures. gonna add dirt to them as well, after i've added a treadpattern.

good luck

Could you make it all more cartoonish to keep with the toy? Heh.. even funnier? Make them look like they are stickers.
Now someone needs to make a version of the new shows one.

like i said only the colors are a tad different, otherwise the design is pretty much the same

but i can tell you this:
this party wagon is a lot more serious than the one in the cartoon
and yes i'm going to get the turtle looking more realistic.
he's got no texture yet.
getting closer to something i can call finished.
still, the drivers and passenger place is almost completely untextured.
here's the amputurtle
lol, have been waiting for ages for someone to comment it
i was thinking about a pocket on the wall under the nunchuck holder.
scale test.
the Don clones discover that having a pizza without hands is a challenging task.

for now, i've created an MNT gaiden comic
from http://obscurezodiac.com/index2.html
also created a small wall basket to store the comics, since mike treasures them so highly i doubt he would let them float around gathering dust and getting stomped on.
