hey all ~~
some of you may remember an old skin ive done for SkullboX's original Magdalena model for Q3A. it was a "legacy" skin from french stylist and kickass artist ogro_fix
the original Q3A model / magogro skin :
i didnt have the time to join dark horizon and skullbox as they redid magdalena for ut2k3, but better later than never right?
i hope i can finish it during this winter break. its all still in fairly early stages, but crits r always more than welcome. the energy areas would probably end up brighter as in the original version

well fine is okay but not too contrasty then.
dont make each pop out to much is what im tryin to say i think.
that could make the hole things too busy and give each thing
to much of a direction. if u know what i mean.. nice to see ya back at the pc working ! :P
Looks like the kind of style i'd see from a blizzard product.

Thats exactly what I was thinking kman. I think it may be the palet used. If all the textures in WoW were as detailed as this the game would be 2x's as beautiful. I really love the way it looks right now. Good stuff
poop: thanks bud, whats a yarmukla? another one of ur lube tubes? im not sure magogro is gonna be into that kind of stuff
kman: heh ye i see what u'r saying.. the painterly look at spiral stuff, kinda blizzardish ye. maybe strangely enough i cant really say i dig blizzard's style since its a lil too cartoony for me. they're a company of artists essentially with fantastic work produced for each project, gotta hand them that
qube: it feels sweet working again on pc, but its deffinately a lesser passion now..
anyways i totally hear u on the thin muscles structure thing. the flow in the composition is more important than the detail, no doubt. its commonly an "easy" mistake
if you can keep those self illuminated parts (and I know the engine can do it) this will become a really must-have skin !!
vahl: could you please explain the whole thing about the self illuminated parts and the engine?
im not very familiar with the ut2k4 engine and its rendering method
Nice skin.
felt like i should update this wip thread as long as i started it
im off now for the weekend so itll have to wait till next week
its gettin really nice.
ive been very ill this past week and could not have worked on it again..
but im getting better now, and its a race againts the clock, as usual for me
thingy. turns out so nice. one thing id suggest is maybe
rethinkin the colors u use. on their own they are nice but i
think the cloth and the turret dont work with the yellowbrown
and the blue so well. might be just me. u can still fiddle with the colors in the end.
