Just some personal concept work. It's been a couple of weeks since I did these, the anatomy is looking particularly wonky this afternoon. I'm open for crits.
The third one is a WIP. Still trying to unify his armor design. The fourth is just for fun..
Looks like a really nice blend between Lineage 2 and Final Fantasy style elements and characters...I really like the detail and the thought behind them...really really wicked
Crits in the morning I guess...well my morning, right now, just a fanboy reply lol...
Steady, the first two were done in Painter 9. I used the default Digital Airbrush settings at varying sizes and opacity.
The last two were done in Photoshop CS. I used the default Hard Round brush at varying opacities with a flow of 70% (stole the Prometheus' brush settings, actually.)
And of course, everything was painted with a 6"x8" Graphire3.
wow.. cool stuff snowfly. I really like all your stuff.. especally. the guy with the big poofy pants with enormus thighs. The narritive told in the Zeus Pic is kickass too.!
Great stuff, and awesome execution. However I have some critiques on the costume design. On the first one, his lower pants and footwear look far too modern. That looks like the type of thing I would see someone from california wear. I really like his sword holster straps however.
The pirate chick rocks, I really like her.
I think overall my critique would be to create a focus point. An item or article that is the main focus, with everything else playing second fiddle. The actual rendering is great, and the colors rock, they just kind of all meld together to form an area of equal interest all over.
the guy doesn't really do it for me, though. brings back unpleasant memories of tidus. i'm digging his sword and the straps that keep it on, but other than that he looks like he's in his pjs.

has photoshop got a brush that changes contrast? the only way i can find to do it is lasso and apply a image adjustment...

Great stuff regardless!

Now see thats the sort of character design we should have used in Frost, eh Zeldrik.
