This is a dust off / remaster of an old piece that's about ten years old by now (barf, time, why?). It was originally done in UE4 with Quixel Suite for the texturing. This project is special to me for a variety of reasons, but it definitely needs a facelift to stay in the portfolio. I'm mainly looking to improve the texturing, lighting, narrative and rendering. If anyone is curious, the original version of the project is here.

I'm in the process of finalizing the new composition, lighting and blocking out new props. I'd love to 'lock' the lighting and camera for the hero shot so any feedback on those aspects would be very welcome.

The Boom box and turntable have gone through a texture revision using substance painter.

I have a trello board with lots of props to do. I'm thinking about using mid-poly meshes (no high/low bake) for the secondary props while keeping the full high/low bake for the hero assets (boombox, turntable, mixer --the black box in the middle in the image). This is mainly to keep good pace on building out the scene, but I'm not sure if this will hurt cohesiveness in the image. (am I just being lazy?)

Thanks for looking and I'm happy to hear any critique / feedback. Cheers!
