re unreal engine crashes

I have had terrible problems at home running the later versions of unreal engine, ie crashing if I even sneeze
too loud. Lots of different solutions to try , but only one of them worked for me ,

 I just reset my Nvidia control panel to default. Now it works perfectly, does not crash at all.

currently running 5.6 using direct x 12 and have had literally no crashes all day
it would be interesting to know which settings were causing the crash

That kinda makes sense. Curious too which settings you played around with that weren’t vanilla defaults.

not sure now, messed with all sorts of settings, mainly to prioritize speed over quality

just tested it with direct x 12 settings and still no crashes( realised I actually had it on dx11)

I have fairly old RTX 2070, but my PC is still fairly beefy. Lucky i did not go out and buy a 4070 as a video card
upgrade seems to be most people's  'go to' option

Oh nice need to test when I do personal stuff again. Vanilla 5.6 is super crash heavy for me as well
