My goal with this asset was to practice hair creation while exploring a new workflow that balanced control and efficiency. I wanted to place every card manually for precision, but also work quickly and be able to make changes without losing progress—knowing I'd face challenges as I learned and improved.
To achieve this, I used Fibershop to generate hair textures and make quick adjustments when needed. For placing the hair cards, I used Bartosz Styperek’s Hair Tool for Blender, but in a more controlled way: instead of generating all cards automatically, I used curves to guide each individual card. This allowed me to position them one by one without constantly selecting vertices and geometry.
This was a very successful project—I accomplished everything I set out to do. Now I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned to future hair assets and keep pushing the quality even further.

The shaved section is reading a bit patchy. Shaved/buzzcut hair is general is my least favourite thing to do as it becomes hard to get it to look natural. What kind of texture are you using here? I also think that this could benefit from some perpendicular cards to stop it looking really thick at one angle and thinner at another.
I also think the shaved hairline would look better with a smoother transition into 'skin'
For buzzcuts in particular, it can be worth baking down a strand based hairstyle into a head texture
