We're looking for an experienced Unreal Engine developer (UE5.5) to help implement a prototype gameplay mechanic for a two-player online co-op experience. This is a mechanics-focused task that involves physics constraints, multiplayer replication, and Steam integration.
Create a physics-based constraint (e.g., chain/handcuff) between two third-person characters.
Characters should be constrained wrist-to-wrist using UE's physics system.
Players should have shared movement limits and be able to pull or affect each other’s movement via input and momentum.
Implement a visible chain or cable mesh (optional but preferred).
Ensure Steam multiplayer compatibility using the Advanced Sessions plugin.
Use UE’s interact system (e.g., “Press E to Interact”) for simple environmental triggers.
Minimal environment blockout for testing the mechanic.
Strong experience with Unreal Engine 5+ and Blueprints (C++ is a plus).
Solid understanding of multiplayer replication and networking in Unreal.
Experience with physics constraints and skeletal mesh interactions.
Familiarity with Steam multiplayer setup and the Advanced Sessions plugin.
Ability to quickly prototype and troubleshoot issues in a collaborative environment.
This is a template-only project focused on the multiplayer mechanic. We are not building a full game—just a working, testable version of the core system.
