Rigging Education Survey

Hello, everyone! I'm a Computer Animation instructor at Sheridan College in Ontario, Canada.

I'm pursuing my Master's, and my topic is rigging education. I’ve found rigging to be one of the more challenging aspects of our curriculum--and I'd like to figure out how to do a better job teaching it. (I’d also like to use my findings to contribute back to the wider 3D rigging and education communities.)

As part of my research, I've drawn up a survey about rigging education. It also asks about certain aspects of Autodesk's Maya in particular, and the future of rigging and rigging education. If you have a few minutes, I would really appreciate your input! (*Even if you are not a Maya user—all rigging experience is relevant!)

The survey should only take 10-15 minutes to complete, although there's room for longer answers (completely optional) if you feel like spending a bit more time. I’ll be collecting responses for about a month, so please respond by April 15th if you can.

Also: if you have significant experience teaching rigging (e.g. you are a college instructor, or you have onboarded juniors in the rigging department at a studio), please DM me—I would love to interview you about your experiences!

Thanks in advance for your time!

(Mods: I’m cross-posting this in a few channels that seem relevant, figuring that each might have a different userbase. If this violates spamming rules, please let me know, and I’ll remove duplicates.)
