Retopology for game ready asset question

Hello, this is my first post here. I've been doing 3D Art for the past few years but I still have some doubts about some stuff sometimes so I decided to register here to step up my modeling game :)

I had a question about topology for game ready / real time assets. I am currently modeling a knife but I encountered a retopology dilemma...

Could anyone tell me from these two images which would be a better topology for the low ? Also, if anyone has another solution I'd be happy to hear about it !

Thing is i need some points at the top and the bottom to support the curve, but I do not need the points in between, so how could i optimize it better ?

    2 is definitely what is more expected topo for game assets, although you probably could get rid of some of the loops along the bottom as well, unlike the top, the bottom ones aren't doing much.

    Thanks for the answer! Yes I was just trying out some topologies, and will definitely do the bottom lines too if I should go with option 2
