Hello fellow polycounters, thought it'd be fun to share with the community what we've been cookin' up over at GALA Games with collaboration partners at AMC. Welcome to world of the Walking Dead Empires!! A new PC/MAC survival battle based MMO coming late 2024 early 2025. We currently have a public development build beta available (
DEMO/BETA) if you'd like to take it for a test drive. Please join our discord at
gala.games Okay enough text let's enjoy some amazing art created by the team. Enjoy. Thanks.
Some in-game screenshots showing the visual targets we want to hit for the final game. The demo has wip areas with various levels of detail since it's still in production in a pre-alpha state; but we hope to release a rich world that will invite exploration and discovery.
We wanted a stylized look to the world and the characters. There are so many amazing characters in this world, heroes, villains, walkers, assassins, and leaders. Select your favorite from the show or explore the world with some of our original characters.
modelmodelmodelmodelmodelOkay, now let's get to the fun stuff. How about some walkers!? Release the horde!!!!
modelmodelFor the game world we also wanted to take an approach where it really matched the concept art developed for the game. We heavily utilize a "cutout" shape language that can be seen in everything from a building, the trees, the rocks, water, fire. It's in it's DNA and it's really something when in motion at 60fps.
Part of the fantasy we wanted to realize for the Walking Dead Empires was the idea of creating a base you could work on by yourself, with a few of your friends, or join/rule an Empire (clan) that can build a shared community. Build your base in PVE or PVP zones of the world. It's up to you how want to play.
Thanks for stopping by, let us know what you think if you happen to check out the public development build.
To be continued...
