Hi everyone, I started learning Substance Designer myself and recently created a stained glass material.
I'd like to hear some feedback on the final material and learn some possible ways for improvement.
My intention was to create some beautiful blue-colored stained glass material with a unique pattern in Substance Designer.
I started with Splie nodes to build the main pattern that is tileable and then imported it as a bit map to a new project to continue it there.
In addition, I would be grateful to have a link to good tutorials on how to
build and render stained glass material properly.
1. Built a pattern with Spline nodes
2. Built a material in a separate project

I think the biggest thing I did was to spend a lot of time gathering and examining photo references of real stained glass, to help me understand how it should look with both reflections and refractions, both when lit from behind and when not lit.
I put a live demo on my site recently, and added "on" and "off" states, which might help you understand my material a bit better, and how to translate that to your own. https://ericchadwick.com/gltf/index.html#StainedGlassLamp
So I would say the most important thing is to choose some specific real-world reference, and use that to guide your work.
