Rigging a watch to get this kind of animation

Theres more to it than can be said in a forum post, but it is something can be learned in a couple days. If you follow the first half of this series you'll know how to do it:

Basically a simple IK setup for the collapsing part - if you don't need the rest of the 101 stuff just search for IK in maya.

Thank you, Alex, This is the result I have achieved so far: https://youtu.be/dsTKcugq3N0. However, the bottom right corner still requires further refinement. Please note that this is not the final model, it has been simplified for easier adjustments and tweaking, I did watch a lot of tutorials to get this result. thanks again
