Like the title says, I exported a garment from marvelous designer using the thick preset. When the file is imported in substance painter and I try to bake maps, I get a very dark AO map. However, I tried the same process with my garment exported as thin from marvelous designer and the AO map seem to be alright after baking. I tried different garments, each time exporting both a thin and thick version from marvelous designer, and each time the resulting AO map generated by substance is the same. What could be the issue and what am I doing wrong? Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi! What do the UVs look like? If you attach a mesh you have issues with, people can take a look.
Faces in the thick version might just be inverted, check that the face normals are pointing in the right direction (outward).
If the UVs are stacked, Substance will overlay the AO results of both, making it appear black. Try unstacking mirrored faces by offsetting them -1 outside the UV 0,1 frame. Note: any lowpoly faces outside the UV frame will not project its highpoly reference to the bake.
