We are looking for UK-based candidates, working on employment contract, remotely or in the office. We may also consider candidates from outside the UK, having their own self-employment in the residence country, on invoicing base.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities would include the following:
- Creating 3D models, textures and shaders, primarily for environments and organic forms
- Work with the team to establish the look and feel for the game
- Inspire and share knowledge across a team of Artists in the creation of 3D game content
- Work with both the Art and Design team to ensure processes and communication are clear and concise for both 3D workflows and general asset requirements
- Guide team workflow across modelling, shading and texturing solutions and impart knowledge and inspire your fellow team members
- Oversee the quality of 3D assets, ensuring high standards, the key vision of the project, while maintaining optimization and aesthetics
- Help document and define workflows and standards
- Implement the assets into game engine (Unity)
Essential Skills
- Previous work experience as a 3D Game Artist, with released commercial games and projects
- Portfolio demonstrating wide knowledge of environment, creatures and hard-surface modelling with game implementation
- Experience delivering various 3D art styles, from realistic to heavy stylized assets
- Flexible with both low-poly and high-poly stylizations
- Familiarity with procedural workflows, tiling, efficient texturing, optimising
- Great eye for detail, shape, composition, lighting
- Passionate about gaming, particularly mobile games and VR
- Great knowledge and artistic ability within one of the popular 3D packages, like: Maya, 3D Studio Max, Blender and 3D sculpting software, like Zbrush (preferably, but open to others)
- Confidence, knowledge and hands-on aptitude with Unity
- Excellent cross-discipline communication skills, a friendly and approachable attitude
- Enjoying working both independently and collaboratively, taking ownership of a feature if needed
- Ability to work within tight deadlines
- Ability to offer solutions to workflows and asset pipelines
Bonus Skills
- Familiarity with Substance and PBR materials
- VFX skills
- Knowledge of procedural software such as Houdini
