Working on personal computer for a company with strict rules regarding connection security.
Hello, the company I work for is now getting more secure. So its no longer possible to work on my personal computer.
How is this solved with freelance work etc. for big companies ? Everything we do has to be done through the company's connection (aka give up my computer to the company and give them full access). I cant create a 3d model and upload to drive anymore. But we can download 3d models from turbosquid etc..? How is that any different. Do people working for blizzard in another part of the world connect to a remote computer at the blizzard office?

depends on what you do and how deep you go into their systems.
once you get hooked up to proprietary tech, their asset management and engine, you will either work through a VPN, a remote machine or you will get a machine by them to work on. So yeah some of our folks have multiple machines on their desks and/or at home to work with.
just working on, say character assets you deliver often just works through some third party solution like dropbox. But its getting rarer, the least you can expect it to tunnel through a VPN into their network.
