Having issues with FBX animation in Unity

So basically for some reason my animations made in Maya aren't working properly when imported to Unity. Even with each bone's animations baked, they're flying all over the place.

Based on long-ago prior experience, I have a hunch it might have something to do with root motion, but none of the root motion node options seem to make any difference.

Can someone please point me to what might be happening?
