Effective ways to create this shape??

Decided to to model a KV1 tank inspired by playing Wolrd Of Tanks. Just struggling to create the front section on the turret and would much appreciate the help Maybe it's easier than I think but understanding the process of getting to this shape would be the goal.

yeah just go into that thread, but really

it is always, always the same

break it down to the most simple shapes, build these first, do this simple, then subdivide as needed, then combine.

it's 3 very simple basic shapes

once you have these, cut some holes or if it will just be bakled down, creatre some floaters.

I've gotten the basic shapes down but i'm not too familiar with floaters, either way it certainly a start!
