Overlaying video on Blender animation tools?

Hi! I'm trying a technique that makes it more comfortable for me to animate things on Blender. I've used reference images to model and was thinking about using reference video for animation. I've recorded a video of me just doing a basic walk and I'm planning to put that video in the background of my animation screen in Blender, and then move the bones according to the body position in the video.

Unfortunately, I can't find a way to overlay the video and sync it's playback frames with the animation sequence in Blender. Is there a name for this technique, or a tool that makes it easier?
