Wicked! Everything looks pretty nice. I'm not a huge fan of the grunge on the blade, and I think the black background for the render is hurting the presentation a little.

what kind of backgrounds do you recommend to use?

I tend to use something a little in the mid range, so the background isn't as intense. Maybe if you gave it a simple environment, it would stand out even more.
