I don't hear much talk about the awesome Hard Mesh awesome plugin that just released for 3dsmax. Hardmesh is the closest thing to Modo Meshfusion in 3dsmax. The Smoothbooleans 2.0 plugin comes close but it is less fluid. The new 2021 Retopology modifier and quad topo plugin are not suited for a lot of boolean detail work. I think hard mesh is awesome, especially for detailing work.
I've not tried hardmesh but I tested out smoothboolean. I think depending on the shape it's pretty awesome stuff and would use it over bool/dynamesh/polish. You still have to be pretty methodical about how to construct the boolean. but it's all iterative and proceedural. As long as I don't need good geometry it's pretty cool.
I really like it. 2 Advantages over Smooth Boolean (which is also nice) is that Hardmesh's blending is live so you can tweak it in real-time. You can also adjust the sharpness of the bevel among other options for it. I wish you could turn the live blending off for faster perf while you're working though. Allot of times I end of using ProBoolean/Smooth Boolean for that reason.
Also Hardmesh doesn't have Max 2022 support yet from what I can tell.
