What is this color style/scheme called?

I'm going to borrow Pascal's great image here to illustrate the color style/scheme I'm interested in learning more about.

I've seen it around and always liked it. Does this style have a name? Is there a history to it?

Pascal Blanche appears to be a big fan of the classic 1970's sci fi artists like Chriss Foss or Peter Elson. (I am also a fan) These artists were heavily influenced by the psychedelic art movement. Which seems to have been where they got their use of color from.

@sprunghunt @pior Hey thanks! That's why it's so familiar to me, I grew up with the sci-fi and hippie posters. Wasn't sure what to call it.
