[Maya] How to stop animation mode for renders?

Hey,
I was playing around with this project, I did a few still renders then an animation render with a few keyframes, I now want to go back to play around and take some still renders, I removed all the keys but when I hit render the slider moves for a few frames before it stops and the render starts normally, this is really annoying because I lose a few seconds each time I hit render and I can't do Live renders because it makes my computer slow with the slider moving even tho nothing changes in the scene. I turned off Animation mode in Render settings, I deleted all keys, I don't understand what else I'm supposed to do for it to stop moving when I want to do a still.
