Going through some negotiations regarding such topics. I'm just interested to hear about your experience and expectations. I am aware of the wiki pages but they are not really up to date.

I'm wondering if we organized a survey which asked position, location, years experience, and salary, that might be a really useful tool for all of us.

Junior artists in Vancouver seem to be getting hired on around 35-45k Canadian.

Yeah. I just got an offer that personally I really do not like, so i was wondering if I'm asking for too much, but I do not think so.

I'm guessing you're looking at relatively senior positions so that might explain a big range. 

The salary range for Principal grade tech art jobs that I've seen is vast ( £50k+ between top and bottom end) but that incorporates everything from "just got past senior" all the way up to technical art director. This is true of Senior level positions too although in my experience the range is a lot smaller/

How one studio sees a given job title might not match another studio's idea so you have to make a comparison based on the specific role and responsibility

The OECD data doesn't seem to be accurate though. It says the average wage in hungary is around 26k $ per year but this is far from being true. More like that half of that or even less if we are actually taking an average. Its very rate to find jobs that would pay that much here.
