Hi!
I'm an indie developer working on a tactical space game. It's a game inspired by Homeworld, FTL and Nexus: The Jupiter Incident.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7qdQkih5_gWe're at a phase where we'd like to start moving beyond temporary assets and I'm looking for a 3D artist that's a good fit for creating our ships, stations, etc. At this stage we'd like to create the player ship (which is analogue to the main character) and we need a versatile artist that can help design, model and texture a game ready mid-poly asset for use in Unreal Engine.
This reference should give you an idea of the desired level of detail/quality:
https://www.artstation.com/artwork/l0lQzI'll send a more fleshed out brief to candidates but the main goal right now is creating a nicely designed ship that the player loves to look at for the entirety of the game and can grow attached to.
Requirements:
- Experience with hard-surface modeling
- Understanding of PBR materials
- UV-unwrapping, texturing
- Ability to design/concept without 2D concept art
- Good communication skills
Pluses:
- Work in Blender
- Experience with Unreal Engine 4
- Knowledge of decal/Trim Sheet workflows in UE4
