I'm done! I was going to do it in Unreal but decided on using Maya and Arnold instead so doesn't really fit the challenge requirements but... Here he is:
My gawd! it's the gummy bear on steroids! and he means serious business.
As always you can continue to work on this challenge if you so chose, and are encouraged to do. You can continue to post in this thread or make your own, this thread will no longer be stickied
@AwesomeRookie Loved the final image, especially the materials. What Arnold shader did you use for the body? & is the body in your final image a low or a high poly? Thanks.
@DebendraRoy Thanks! I used a StandardSurface shader with a really high scale for the subsurface - and just a touch of transparency.
The body is a relatively low poly mesh with displacement and subdivisions cranked up - to get that bit of surface detail and break up the smoothness.
Thanks. Made a note to myself about playing with SSS scale for such effects. So the displacement is responsible for the 'ridges' of the body contour? I think your low poly screenshot didn't have those, iinm. Hence my confusion.
I know I am super late to the party but wanted to share what I was able to get done with Lord Crème. I really wanted to get the materials down and get the Syrup and the Whip cream down. I ended up with around 45,000 tris and rendered him in Unreal Engine
