Conclusion

Adding Emissive Lighting to any Material is very cheap and effective way to simulate a light source without adding any new lights. However keep in mind that when using Emissive Lighting the Emissive Lighting will not illuminate dynamic objects, like characters, the same way that lights will. 



But in your video, emissive lighting with volumetric lightmap seems to work well illuminating the character  or using lights rather than emissive material looks better or the info in the doc is outdated?

EDIT: U placed dynamic lights to get dynamic shadows for the character but the emissive lighting works with the volumetric lightmap to illuminate dynamic objects.
