3Ds Max Arnold

So this guide on the Autodesk site is about generating clouds through a noise and volume shader. I assume since the file is from 2020 max that the Arnold engine is also updated. I'm currently using 2019 attempting to create the same results and getting nowhere. I see that the texture is being applied, but the actual shape of the cloud is non-existent it remains a flat sphere. Does this mean this shader effect is native to 2020 only?
