Created my first 3D mobile game

A few months ago I decided to create my first game. I’ve been a 3D generalist artist for a while now and have had interest in learning what it takes to create and launch a game on mobile.


I wanted to keep it as simple as possible to make sure I finish the project. In the past I have had issues with scope of game development where the project was too ambitious for the skill-sets/available time that I had which often led to not finishing the large projects that I started.


I decided a good starting point was to create a very simple math game with 3D art using Unity.


I used Maya for the modeling/rigging, Substance Painter for texturing, and Unity for putting all of the pieces together.



As you can see from the image breakdowns, it’s quite simple. Since there is no camera rotation, all of the elements are stacked on top of one another to form what you see in the game view.
