Maya. Copy a vertex's normal value to another vertex

Hello.

I need to copy a vertex's normal value to another vertex. ( I know how it do it by hand. But it is long time )

Maybe do you know Maya script  for this, i didn't find it

you can also use transfer attributes to do this -

This is how I would usually do custom normals for trees and plants.

I'm not sure but does it work only between meshes?
Because I wanted a script for this. Edit inside mesh.
