Our Barcelona studio is looking for a Technical Animator/ Character Technical Artist to join the team.
Job Description
As a Tech Animator in Gameloft, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Work with character artists and animators to create character setups for the in-game use.
- Prototyping, innovation and application of new animation technologies; driving the development of the animation pipeline.
- Tools development, training and documentation for the character team.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Expert knowledge of in-game character animation technology: animation compression techniques, retargeting, animation blending/parametrization, IK , procedural animation.
- Expert knowledge of rigging (body and facial) and skinning, in-game animation systems and methodologies.
- Fluency in Max script and/or Python.
- Experience working with multiple game engines.
- High level of expertise with 3ds Max.
- Good eye for character mesh flows and animation aesthetics.
- Good communication skills, ability to clearly share complex technical information with programmers, animators, character artists and designers.
Assets:
- Experience with using Autodesk’s gross-platform system with 3ds Max, Maya and MoBu.
- Experience with leading game engine’s animation systems using state-machines, blend-trees; Unreal 4 Blueprints, Unity Animation System.
- Experience with MoCap, performance capture processes and data manipulation.
