I honestly think it's too basic and too dimly lit, if you're lighting this on a mac, or on a tablet with contrast turned way up you may not see it that way. But it almost feels like you don't have a key light on the render.
Here, look at how this looks on your portfolio:
It's the most dimly lit, out of place thing on your page. Even the gun, just below his thumbnail, is lit with more care than this character, and characters should be lit like characters. The character right next to him feels better despite having far less detail.
Light him so that the shadows on him don't turn to black, pick out some detail in the shadows.
