I am pretty new to maya and I am trying to figure out a quick way of capping the back of an extruded inset plane without manually aligning edge loops. By that I mean I know you can do fill hole with the edges at the back but you would have to multicut and merge the aligned edges. Another idea is bridging the back but that only aligns the edges in one direction, not both.
I have included pictures of a simple design vs something more complex but its still the same problem. I hope they'll be of more use than my words.
