Every goddamn week cool free plugins are coming out for Blender. Would you stop? Have mercy on us. We're simply people, who need to work, then want to go home and do some side-activities or spend time with family. And then you go and drop us this. When are we supposed to put time into this now, huh!?
No seriously, jokes aside, thank you for putting this up Alex, the plugin looks sweet and super intuitive I will definitely check this out! The only ones I had trouble understanding are the Sync function with the Auto Select Mesh & Sync Selection Modes. The video didn't give me a clear idea on what they do exactly, but then again, it might just be because these are very Blender-oriented terms which I do not know yet, since I have just began transitioning to this app from Max&Maya.
@Justo Thank you! UV Sync is a very specific feature of the Blender. It synchronizes the selection in the editing mode and the UV editor. Addon extends this functionality.
Looks great, but Blender's UV sync system is terrible and so frustrating to work with. There is one excellent addon called UV Highlight that fixes this to be like other 3D programs, but sadly the dev won't be porting to 2.8. This would be such a great addition to your addon.
Learning blender recently and this plugin is just really awesome. One request though! Would it be possible to add scaling by *2 and .5 per axis ? so I could double or half my UV size for either X or Y? I tend to unwrap to wide texture pretty often, two UV tiles wide, and then scale down to fit into the one by either the X or Y to fit it back in. I notice you have great Move and rotate tools, but nothing for scale. If I'm doing my texturing and unwrapping solely in blender I don't think it would be a problem, but I can forsee getting an asset from elsewhere and unwrapping here and the scaling being off, with a need for it to be accurate. This isn't a huge deal or important request, just more of 'if it's possible to easily add' kind of thing. Thanks again for all your hard work!
Looks like a very nice add on! What does the orient island feature do exactly though? Does it rotates it so it's straight on the UV grid or will it rotate it so all islands are facing up?
Why is there no more information on this plugin. Currently there is version 2.1, but there is no mention of it here.
Because "here" may be no offical "channel" of the author ( "..*alex*." on gumroad ? last post of OP 2020) ..and if you look there or on blendernation.. it also seems to be pulled off..
