Polygon fill tool still can't cull backface?

I asked this about 2 years ago, I wonder if the status quo has changed or anyone have made a plugin or something that make this easier? I just can't understand why Polygon fill tool insists on selecting mesh uv on the backface too.
(I mean the "click and drag" action, just clicking doesn't select backface.)
