Hi everybody. Please tell is it possible to get in Maya same result without splitting edges which I get in 3ds Max using Toorbosmooth with smoothing groups option enabled? Max Example:
the downside of creases is, that you can not not easily preview them on your basemesh, unless that was changed. hard edges are easy to ready and predict, dunno if maya has some custom edge shading for creases
i think the feature you are looking for is part of crease+ but i have to check with our maya guys at work if it was this tool or another one. basically it converts hard edes to creases. so you can work with the hard edges the way you would in max
so yeah this is the tool i was talking about. visually it works just like doublesmooth in max. and you can keep easily readable hard edges vs not readable creases
