I'm having a very hard time finding anything about it though. I'm not sure if this is all just done in photoshop afterwards or are these effects being done in Arnold itself?
bump - I'm curious too! Is it nparticles? I've seen so many artist's renders with that cool looking dust particle effect in the air but can't find much info on how to do it lol Like this great piece by Andrei Szasz....
Thanks man yea I've heard several things in asking several people from it's Houdini, Maya Particle Effects, or Photoshop. I've found zero consensus or tutorials on this online.
I would say, at least from looking at these pics that you posted, that they did this in Photoshop. In my opinion, it's the fastest and easiest way to achieve this and looks just as good as doing it in renderer.
Yeah come to think of it a simple dust particle search on google shows so many images you could easily comp into your scene in photoshop rather than setting up any particles if its just for a still render lol.. Thanks for the info
