UE4 overly dark foliage shadows

why is it so dark? been working in unreal for about 3 h and I´m lost. Everything just looks shit. The material is a mask so i can use alpha for cut out and i have 2 sided shading on. I have no idéa what I'm doing... please help!

Check the documentation for the foliage shader, you just need to hook up additional inputs:

Thank you so much! I have been looking around but couldn't find it anywhere. It's hard when you don't know what to look for.
