Maya LT 2017 Substance Integration

I searched the forum and apologize if this has been covered elsewhere, but I'm having an issue with Substance integration in Maya LT 2017. I downloaded the plugin at the bottom of the page here: https://www.allegorithmic.com/integrations/substance-in-maya

It appeared to install correctly, but then I get this error in Maya LT: "//AEsubstanceTemplate.mel line 1898: ImportError: file <maya console> line 1019: Module "SubstanceHelpers" not found". 

That line appears to be calling the python script SubstanceHelpers.py, but python doesn't work with Maya LT. 

I feel like I'm missing something silly or Substance Integration is incompatible with Maya LT?

Yeah, Python isn't supported in Maya LT. Unless there is a MEL script that can be used instead, it won't work unfortunately.

I've been using Maya LT for a while now and Python support is the top most wanted feature. Hopefully Autodesk will add it in soon.

OK, I know python isn't supported in LT (fingers crossed that it gets added at some point). Odd that there's a download for an LT version of Substance Integration if there's no MEL equivalent. Ah well, thanks for the reply.

I haven't used Substance so I don't have any direct experience making it work with Maya LT.

But I did find this and there seems to be a way to integrate Maya LT + Substance.
