What to do with adult animations?

So I'm fairly new to animation. I just finished studying 3D Animation and I'm really having fun doing animations especially highly erotic stuff that are not safe for work. So my question is if there is any use for those animations. I don't think people want to see those stuff inside a demo reel, do they? ^^

I'm currently trying to earn money via patreon but the progress is rather slow so I don't think this is a good idea in the long run. So does anybody know a way to earn money from this kind of animations or are they commercial useless?
Also is there any kind of community for this niche? I can't be the only one who do those animations, am I?

I'm looking forward to any kind of help to this topic.

Where do you advertise or share your animations?

I used Tumblr until december when they started to forbid adult content. Now I'm using Twitter. At the same time I upload my animation to different adult sites, that I'm probably not allowed to mention here. If you are interested in seeing my animations, I can send you a link to my Twitter.

hmmmmm if only there was some type of "hub" for this kinda content.......;) Not really familiar with this sector industry but I am sure there are people making thousands a month via donations/patreon, like any type of industry. same rules of success apply, build an audience and give them what they want. works on youtube, works on instagram, works on artsation etc...

Considering the content of games like Witcher 3.etc, would an animation recruiter have a problem receiving a reel with one animation pertaining to adult content among others?
Also how do they deal with this matter in studio? Would you pull up references that are not safe at work at work?

Speaking as someone who works at a studio that does a lot of adult-oriented stuff (Volition), the threshold for what constitutes "not safe for work" is in a wildly different place than at most places of business, but it definitely still exists. If someone submitted an animation reel including pole dancing no one would bat an eye, but a reel full of hardcore pornography would be weird. Likewise you might have some references that'd get you in trouble at most places, but it's gonna be artsy pinups or maybe TV show sex scenes, not PornHub.

yea in general it's no uncommon to look over and see nude models or scantily clad refs on peoples monitors, sometimes that stuff is needed to accurately create character models, people usually chuckle in review/show and tell meetings but everyones an adult, there isnt much pearl clutching going on.

Having a chick with her ankles behind her ears getting slammed out on the other hand casually up on your monitor.....thats kinda universally nsfw. use context and common sense.

Unless of course that is what is wanted.
I imagine the biggest adult gaming companies have full on motion capture facilities for this sort of thing.
To be honest I feel that adult stuff works best on patreon.etc, where it can see its full potential.
There is a definite difference in the quality expected of the work comparing with non adult AAA titles (I said titles)

Patreon is not for pornography, though.
    Patreon said:
While we allow nudity and for creators to push the boundaries of art, we also have guidelines against funding pornography on patreon. In our community guidelines, We define pornographic material as real people engaging in sexual acts such as masturbation or sexual intercourse on camera.
If you see any active accounts doing that, they just haven't had as much scrutiny from the "Trust & Safety" staff as other accounts have.
The difficulty with this kind of subject is that payment processors (eg Paypal) don't like adult stuff, not sure why, something to do with a higher risk of credit-card fraud.

I read a comment saying that there could be Patreon-like platform based on cryptocurrency -- this way there'd be no payment processor to point fingers and get accounts suspended.

That definition of pornography is really narrow, in particular the fact that it only includes "real people". That leaves plenty of room for games, animations, and illustrations that meet most definitions of "pornographic".

Thank you for all the replys. I'm really happy that I was able to start a discussion with this topic and your answers really help me.

I know that things like poledancing are not that strange in a demo reel but I'm talking more about these things:
Having a chick with her ankles behind her ears getting slammed out...
hmmmmm if only there was some type of "hub" for this kinda content.......;) Not really familiar with this sector industry but I am sure there are people making thousands a month via donations/patreon, like any type of industry. same rules of success apply, build an audience and give them what they want. works on youtube, works on instagram, works on artsation etc...
It may sound obvious but this rule of success advice actually helps me a lot right now. It sounds so easy like that. Thanks :D

When I started with Patreon I got flagged pretty fast by their security staff. But that was only because there was one picture that included nudity and was open for everyone. After I changed all the adult stuff to "patron only" it was completely fine. Even hardcore animations are allowed as long as they can only be seen by patrons. So I guess animations don't fall into their view of pornography...

It seems like Patreon is the best way for those kinds of animation after all. At least for now.

Yeah don't. Don't want to see a demo reel with some kid chasing a butterfly, and then someone getting smashed right after lol.
Just keep that stuff private. I don't know if someone will see the animation and will call out what's wrong with it, or just see the animation and wonder why they're looking at it.
That's a different target or audience. This sounds dumb, but the animations before it happens lol might be ok. Like, making out or getting all flirtatious lol. I don't know about after. It'll be the funniest demo reel if that happened, just the build-up and then when it's done.

I would agree, except when some suspended users questioned the staff on why they were suspended, they'd get a statement that prohibited "anything that is intended to cause arousal". So it'd include those categories you mentioned.

Might work at Mindgeek that owns Nutaku games.
