Stratosphere Games, a mobile game studio focusing on core mobile games in Berlin, is looking for a Senior Game Artist for our current and upcoming projects who will be responsible for creating multiple concepts and production quality game assets, while interacting directly with peers, leads, and other disciplines. This unique position requires a creative, talented and motivated individual eager to learn, contribute and grow their skills.
To successfully execute the role, the candidate must have a proficiency in a range of skills, with an emphasis on concept and production design for games. Advanced skill in 3D modeling, texturing, design, layout and color is essential. Must be extremely efficient with art
programs and able to deliver high quality work consistently. Takes creative direction well and can articulate and understand the visual design goals of the project. Encouraged to broaden core skillset, and share best practices and ideas for production innovation.
You will be involved in all aspects of internal game development, from brainstorms and pre-production to content releases for live-operations. You will work closely with our developers to create various in-game assets, and may provide content for style guides, visual targets and marketing.
Responsibilities
Create multiple 2D/3D environments, assets, UI elements, concept art for visual targets
Collaborate and lead other artists in a multi-disciplinary team
Explore possible UI layouts, power ups and in-game assets
Export and implement high-quality assets into the game engine
Participate in visual critiques and brainstorms
Requirements
5+ years of experience as a professional 2D/3D artist, marketing, concept, game artist
Long gaming experience on mobile (preferred), console or PC products, so a passion for video games is a must!
In-depth knowledge of visual principles and how they relate to game development specifically
Excellent traditional artistic skills with a strong grasp of composition, anatomy, color theory, perspective, lighting, environment, architectural, technical, creature/character, costume and graphic design
Excellent high and low resolution modeling
Ability to quickly iterate on an idea, as well as take an asset to a final state
Exceptional artistic and creative problem-solving skills
Well-versed in Photoshop, 3ds Max, Unity 3D, Illustrator
Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas in a clear, concise, and professional manner
Ability to take direction
Self-managing, self-motivated, reliable, and passionate about their work
Eye for detail with a clear understanding of the big picture
Team player who understands the value of regular and effective communication
Either German or English fluently

Art degree or equivalent work experience
3D experience with Zbrush, Quixel, Substance Painter etc.
Interested in other areas of art for games (Animation, FX, etc.)
A strong portfolio/demo-reel showcasing a wide range of characters, environments, and visual storytelling in a variety of styles
Solid understanding of art and visual design principles and techniques regarding 2D, 3D, layout, color theory, and lighting
Sense of humor and a positive, enthusiastic attitude
