been working on a character for a bit, starting to wrap up the high poly. She is a Californian Chola For those not familiar with the concept I've linked my Pinterest board a bit. Will start moving on to retopo'ing soon. Any feedback and Crits are always welcome
Thanks @Jesús_Orgaz pluggin away slowly, i recently got a puppy and its greatly affected the amount of time i can put in on her, i hope to have my hair cards done with in the next day or two and then ill start placing them on
@Brian "Panda" Choi she's getting there! after the portrait is in a solid place, the make up and tattoos come next
@Lou_ I actually did that last night I realized that there was still some faceting going on around the nose and ears, so i updated my low poly and doing some rebaking as we speak
Now that my puppy is a bit bigger, I have had more time to work on my model. Still not very happy with the hair, so I am going to do it again, for the third time.... Hopefully next time is it. I needed a break from the hair, so I started cleaning up my bakes. I feel like I'm at a good spot, so I'm going to start texturing next.
first pass on textures, skin is still very WIP, it's currently mainly, the export from mari with no touch ups, going to keep working on the skin, and then start adding tattoos... hella tattoos
Did a pass on the skin and tattoos. For the tattoos I used images found online. Im going to rework the neck/throat piece and then start adding a little bit of color to the tattoos.
I needed to take a break from the face and hair... I downloaded a base mesh AK47 from TurboSquid, reworked the topo. Then bake and texture. Still tweaking the wood texture and materials
Even though the structure of your topology is fine... the distribution of polygons is quite messy (I observed from your Sketchfab). You're already having UVs and texturing work in progress, so maybe it's a tad too late to backtrack though.
It's just that if you keep your mesh super clean, it's easier for a rigger to reference polygonal distribution to the original bind pose (A-pose) while weight painting.
spent some time rigging and posing, brought into marmoset. Not super sold on the arm that's holding the gun. I'm also reworking the hair, for the third time I believe, but I do like how this one is coming along. It's better than the 2 previous versions IMO, though it still needs some love. Once I nail down the arm, I can finsh the hair around her shoulder/back

hey guys how does this bone placement look, rigging is def not my strong point, i want to pose this, but ideally have a fully animatable rig
