[Maya] Fillet point on linear curve?

I'm coming from max where I could fillet any point in my curve (specifically points at 90 degree angles) and round the hard angle at an even distribution. I've been searching around but it seems like there's not a quick or precise way to do this. I found this python script https://www.highend3d.com/maya/script/ezroundcorneroflinearcurve-for-maya which seems to be exactly what I want, but I can't even get a box to pop up when I run it. 
So 1. Is anyone able to get this script working? (I'm in Maya 2018)
or 2. What would be the right way for rounding a point at a 90 degree angle in a curve?

Appreciate any help you guys might have!
