Hey, just a really quick question about uv seams that I've never really understood. I've got a character that I want to use displacements from texturingxyz for skin detail/then use mari to project skin paint etc - never done this before but using Tom Newbury's tuts for this
My character has a large nose and a generally large exaggerated face. I've decided to run the seam right down the middle of the face to avoid any stretching issues (pics). Is this a good idea/will it effect any displacement/painting? Or is there a better method anyone has?
Many thanks

The artist used a seam running vertically across the face to avoid stretching when using displacement. Placing the seams in the usual areas still gives me a lot of 'hot' areas on the nose according to the heat map.
I just wanted to know if this would cause problems for displacements as I'm still not sure lol. Its not an animation just a still render btw.
