PIXOMONDO is an international visual effects company with a network of studios in Los Angeles, Vancouver, Toronto, Stuttgart, Beijing, Frankfurt & Shanghai.

We're looking for an Unreal Engine environment artist to compose environments in Unreal while working with an exciting and forward-thinking team. The ideal candidate should have a good working knowledge of UE4's level building, lighting, and material systems, should enjoy learning and engaging new challenges, and should have a good eye for composition and a willingness and ability to work with directors.

Responsibilities:

  • Compose environments in UE4 from provided concept art, working with the creative director, 3d artists, and technical leads to achieve the desired look.
  • Work with 3d artists to ensure that assets conform to Unreal's technical needs and successfully achieve the scene's visual goals.
  • Work with Unreal's materials and lighting systems effectively to evoke a scene's visual intent.
  • Work with Unreal's terrain and foliage systems to build outdoor environments.
  • Work with Unreal Sequencer to previsualize and animate scenes.
  • Work within and help manage asset and level creation pipeline using Perforce, in-house knowledge base, and shared asset library.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with Unreal's level construction, materials, and lighting systems, and desire to dig deep into their capabilities to achieve a high visual standard.
  • A good eye for visual composition.
  • While not required, the ability to create assets from scratch in Maya or 3DS Max to be used in Unreal is a major plus.
  • Self-driven, excellent verbal and written communication, Team player.
