Hey guys. I'm currently doing a Wooden house for a Game Environment with a porch and before I start I was planning on how to approach every piece of it. But then I've started wondering how would approach the Edges of a wooden floor, that are made of planks.
Like this one:
I'm really used to create a bunch of textures with Substance Designer and apply them on different type of surfaces, but I've never stopped to think about these part where the texture would bend over the mesh on the edges.
How would you approach that? Would you project the texture over the bending parts like they are contiguous?
Would you create that flooring plank by plank?
Any techniques in mind?
Cheers!

You can have custom decals for that.
Here's an example from Vincent Derozier: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/20xea
The decals tip is valuable knowledge just the jagged edges on the decal alone.
Thanks for the insights.
This has already been really valuable for me! I'd love to hear more ideas but Thanks Everyone!
