Hi Polycount.
Ive hit a snag while merging a tool down.

The straps were modeled in ZB and while optimizing the model merging results in a flipped mesh.

If part of the mesh is flipped you can hide the elements that are facing the right way and hit flip under display properties in the tool menu.

Apparently the tool has to be at the highest subD.

This is what I get.
I have tied GoBing the strap parts to Blender, flipping the polys then GoBing back to ZB but with the same result. Also attaching the model to a Blender cube and deleting the cube didn't help. This is ZB2018 but the same thing happens in ZBR28. I'm optimizing the model for baking.
Any help appreciated.

I tried flipping the problem tool before merging and this time it worked. Merging down is an undo-able operation so its a good idea to save before you attempt it. Merge down from a good tool to the whacky one.
