Maya 2017 Legacy Hypershade

Hi all,
I'm trying to get the old hypershade back in my installation of Maya 2017 ( I'm locked to this version because of Mental Ray )
I've added the line :
MAYA_ENABLE_LEGACY_HYPERSHADE=1;
To my Maya.env in C:\Users\MYUSERNAME\Documents\maya\2017
But it's not doing anything. What am I doing wrong ?
