My first attempt at UE4 learning phase . This is the begining of the creation prosses of the environement . The first assets created . this was 35 days ago , im posting all the progress till this day x) hope u like it!
@Ashervisalis i wrote in the picture caption that i changed it in unreal , i made a new one with just a low poly chanfered box and made a parallax occlusion mapping rug .
[UE4] Gryffindor Common Room Not done yet still polishing some assets and textures and adding vertex painting to some parts before the final cinematic !
looks nice! the primary blue outside the window seems a bit eye catching, more of a gradient to black or something would be less in your face. The lighting is nice though.
Why doesn't the fog affect looking outside the window? Something something translucency incorrect I'd bet. But it's very distracting in an otherwise great looking scene!
Everything fits together nicely. But you have some very sharp edges on some of your furniture. You can look for 'face weighted normals' for how to make them smoother. Also some of the tables have too uniformly weared edged. You can isolate these edge wears only on some places to get more natural look. Loving it so far. Great atmosphere

[Gryffindor common room Update] working on the chandelier lamp shader so annoying ahah, that's the best i could do xD Next i'll be adding some dirt decals on the walls and floor to break the uniformity .

i made this slughtly animated for UE4 ... u will see the animation in the further progress .
Ps: this might seem a little bit rough and harsh but i tones down the color and the normal in UE4 !
i changed this carpet later on in unreal because it looked so flat in the engine and i didn't like it .
The glass material is changed in UE4 i will show it in further progress

I will say that there are some areas that look a bit off, for instance here where I've circled.
I'm guessing you can fix that with some UV'ing. It kinda does take me out of the atmosphere when I see something like that.
